The Georgia Sea Turtle Center is a state of the art $2 million dollar facility focused on the treatment and rehabilitation of injured sea turtles and terrapins. In the exhibition hall, designed and fabricated by Malone, visitors can explore scenic interactive stations and videos about the life cycle of sea turtles and the many threats that endanger the species. Children can create their own loggerhead adventure by stamping their Sea Turtle Journal booklets at story stations around the gallery. Visitors can “Be the Vet” by examining and treating animated sea turtles at an interactive computer station and also ‘see the vets’ as they look through the observation window into a real treatment room! Other interactive exhibits let visitors guide sea turtle hatchlings safely to the ocean and learn what they can personally do to help sea turtles survive in the wild throughout their lives.
