The Old State House Museum features a 6,500 square foot exhibit space located in downtown Hartford. Operated by the Connecticut Historical society, the exhibit tells the story of Hartford’s rich and colorful history through sights, sounds, images and artifacts. The exhibit balances the use of advanced audio-visual elements and touch-screen computer technology with simple hands-on mechanical interactives, engaging the visitor with a wide range of learning modalities. Malone called upon its vast experience to produce and install over 500 graphic elements ranging from individual artifact labels to large format photographic wall murals. These various graphic elements provide an exciting and vibrant background on which to showcase the museum’s extensive collection of artifacts and images. In addition, Malone also produced and installed several custom display fixtures: artifact cases, scenic elements, life-sized silhouettes, and artifact mounts.
