Malone was the millwork subcontractor for Whiting-Turner Contracting on the phase II 63,000 square feet addition to the Candler School of Theology building, which houses the Wesley Teaching Chapel and connects to the new Pitts Theology Library. This was a LEED Silver project, with materials that were sourced only five hundred miles away from the project location. Our scope of work incorporated birch wall panels at the chapel, cherry paneling in the research reading room, a traditional wood and Corian circulation desk, and custom wood lockers. We also provided the cherry stained staircase railing throughout the building. This grand staircase connects Candler’s new student lounge to Pitts Theology Library.
